Vista Helicopter Tour
For those that want a little bit outside of the norm when it comes to San Francisco sightseeing, you may want to consider a helicopter tour of the city.
One of the best things about the tour is that you don't have to worry about directions to the tour as they will pick you up outside your hotel 45 minutes before the scheduled flight.
Following a 15 minute trip to the Sausalito helipad, you are whisked up to the friendly skies in grand fashion as you check out the panoramic views from your large vista windows. A 2-way headset allows for communication with the pilot as he points out various city landmarks. The combination of breathtaking views and running commentary provides a unique perspective of the city by the bay.
The 20 minute flight takes you on a low altitude tour of the infamous federal prison, Alcatraz Island, sails you past the Golden Gate Bridge and then along the city skyline. For those that want to extend their sightseeing tour, you can check out the sights of the Pacific Tiburon, Angel Island, the Marin Headlands and Sausalito.
One thing is for sure, you are going to want to take your camera to commemorate some of the best photo opportunities that can be found in the city.
