Getting tired of having to dress up to go out and then worrying that you are under dressed and that you can't compete with all of the beautiful people at the bar when you get there?
Then try hitting up El Rio, a local watering hole for those that aren't dressed to impress. With its multiple rooms, El Rio offers a little something for everybody regardless age, nationality, musical taste and sexual preferences. Perhaps the most popular room is the one that most resembles a large backyard area. The room is decorated with wooden tables, covered huts and citrus trees. It's the perfect place to kick back with a few friends and enjoy a drink or two. There is even a small patio area that leads to a dance area for those that want to do a little dancing. With such a wide variety of patrons, the musical selections can be quite varied as hip-hop songs are often followed up by a touch of meringue. Thursday nights are given an Arabian Nights theme as the dancers specialize in Middle Eastern dancing. Monday is a Vroom party where DJ's spin everything from pop to soul. The first Saturday of the month is a queer and transvestite cabaret night. While DJ's usually handle all of the music, there are nights that live music is brought in and the acts perform a variety of beats from all around the world as well as benefits that contribute to local nonprofit charities.
