Taken in North Beach, China Town, the Castro, Japantown and now thing there is n other region of San Francisco to explore? No so fast, known as SOMA to regulars and locals, the South of Market area is perfect for those that want to check out the trendy lifestyle.
The Moscone Covention Center is located in SOMA and is famous for hosting conventions. The rooftop is the perfect place for children to learn as well as play. It contains a learning museum as well as an ice rink that is open all year, a bowling center and a carousel from 1906 that has been fully restored.
A 12 block area known as Yerba Buena Gardens is home to the Center for the Arts. The area is full of beautifully landscaped lawns, a sculpture court, the Martin Luther King Jr waterfalls as well as theaters that are perfect for the viewing of films or videos. Of Course the Center for the Arts isn't the only thing here, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art is the second largest single structure in the area and is perfect for lovers of modern art.
For those that are looking for a little bit of nightlife action, SOMA has some of the trendiest clubs as wells as restaurants and shopping. The Sony Meteron Complex has something for everybody as it has movies, places to eat, shopping and an entertainment complex for the kids. Of course, you can't come to San Francisco in the summer and not get your sports fill, SOMA is also the area where you can find the home of the San Francisco Giants.
