Jack London Square
311 Broadway
Oakland, CA

A trip to the Bay area wouldn't be complete without a trip to Oakland and a trip to Oakland isn't complete without a trip to Jack London Square.
While the square offers some of the most scenic waterfront view, many people tend to overlook the fact that it is also a very historic area and offers much more than just the shops and restaurants.
For the art lover, you are in luck as the square has a variety of museums. In addition to the African American Museum and Museum of Children's Art, the Oakland Museum of California is designed to give visitors a deeper understanding of the environment, rich history, art and people.
With the waterfront property, visitors should feel free to take to the bay for a little fun. Rent some kayaks or canoes or take a tour of the USS Potomac which was known as FDR's Floating White House.
Sports is a big thing in the Bay area so go ahead and treat yourself to a game and check out the Oakland Raiders, Oakland A's or Golden State Warriors.
Wednesdays and Sundays are perfect for those that want to take advantage of the Farmer's Market. Shoppers can check out the larger retail stores such as Barnes and Noble as well as checking out the mom and pop specialty shops.
When it comes to eating, you have plenty of options. Sit down for a casual yet elegant seafood dinner or just grab an ice cream cone and a cold drink for a snack.
No matter what you are looking to do, Jack London Square has plenty of options and is sure to keep the whole family entertained for the day.
