With lush gardens, beautiful museums, Children's Park, horseback riding and roller blading, it's easy to see why Golden Gate Park is a favorite spot for so many people to spend the day.

For those on a tight budget, but still wanting to get a taste of what the park has to offer they may want to try the checking out the Asian Art Museum, California Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers, de Young Museum and Japanese Tea Gardens. Plant lovers will especially love the Japanese Tea Garden, Strybing Arboretum and Botanical Gardens as they are home to over 6,000 species of plants.

Most people would say that part of the charm of the park is the fact that you can just wander and enjoy the day. Try renting a boat and row across Stow Lake or saddle up a horse and gallop through the park. For the sports enthusiast, you can take your pick from golf or tennis.

For those that make the trip to the park during the fall, be sure to check out the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival., and Opera in the Park. It's the perfect chance to enjoy the day and just unwind. It is also the perfect time to take in the fragrant smells of vibrant tulips and daffodils.
