San Mateo, CA

By linking four distinct habitats, the Coyote Point Museum has become one of the most popular attractions for families visiting San Francisco.
The Thumbed Garden features a number of gardens such as the Butterfly Habitat, a Hummingbird Garden and Nature's Marketplace which is highlighted by plants that were raised by Native Americans.
The Aviary is the perfect place for those that want to do a little bit of bird watching. Many indigenous birds make their home in the park like setting. Take some time out of your day and enjoy the peaceful setting as well as listening to the beautiful sounds of chirping birds.
Environmental Hall takes visitors through the various eco systems that surround the Bay Area. Wander through habitats such as the Redwood Forest, Oak Forest, Chaparral, Grasslands as well as the Baylands and Coast. It is the perfect opportunity to learn about all of the intricacies that go into making a habitat work.
For the animal lover, the Wildlife Habitat is a must see. The museum staff has gone through incredible lengths to rescue 150 native animals. Bobcats, rattlesnakes, river otters and red-legged frogs. One trip to the Wildlife Habitat and you will see why the animals are glad to call this habitat home.
Those that are looking for a little bit of variety in their sight seeing excursions, the Coyote Point Museum is the perfect place to spend the day.
