Coit Tower
1 Telegraph Hill Blvd
San Francsico, CA

Built as a tribute to San Francisco's volunteer fireman, the Coit Tower has come to symbolize everything that the city stands for.
Visitors mainly come to Coit Tower for the views. If you are looking for a view of the water, then your best bet is to check out the views from the parking lot and observation tower. For those that are looking for more of a city view, try scoping out the views from the park that is behind the tower. Although the views are breathtaking, there is one piece of Coit Tower that often goes overlooked and that is the murals that decorate much of the tower.
Artists came together to paint the murals as part of the Depression era WPA project. Guests will find that each of the murals perfectly capture twentieth century life and still manage to keep their social commentary in today's world.
Just follow the murals and you will find yourself right next to the gift shop, the perfect place for you to pick up a little something to commemorate your trip.
Although Coit Tower does have an elevator, the building is not wheelchair accessible. The steps at the base of the tower and the short staircase between the elevator and observation level make it impossible for wheelchairs.
Whether it's the city skyline that you are looking to take in or just want to relax by gazing out at the waterfront, then the Coit Tower is a stop that you need to make on your next trip to San Francisco.
