Civic Center
San Francisco, CA

With its classic architecture and spanning several city blocks, it is easy to see why the Civic Center was declared a nationals landmark nearly 30 years ago.
For those looking for a variety of things to do, the Civic Center has got what you need. A Farmers' Market is held every Wednesday and Sunday and is the perfect time to pick some freshly cut flowers and hard to find treats. For those seeking a little bit of culture, the Opera House is the home of the San Francisco Ballet and award winning San Francisco Opera as well as being the site that the United Nations charter was originally signed. The War Memorial Veterans Building is home to the Herbst Theatre and the museum and library of Performing Arts. Those wanting to get a behind the scenes look of the Performing Arts Center can get a tour every Monday.
With such a large Asian population the Civic Center pays homage to the Asian culture. The Asian Art Museum has one of the largest collections of artwork in the country.
No matter if you are in the mood for a little bit of culture or you are just looking to do a little sightseeing while enjoying one of the city's most notable landmarks, then the Civic Center tour is something that you have to put on your list of things to do while in San Francisco.
