Chinese Cultural Center
750 Kearny St., 3rd Floor
San Francisco, CA

With such a large Chinese population, it only makes sense that San Francisco pay homage to that culture and its heritage. The Chinese Cultural Center is the perfect place to not only understand and appreciate the history, but its culture and art as well.
Located between the Financial District and Chinatown, the 20,000 square foot facility is able to attract visitors from the city as well as from the country.
Programs at the center range from workshops, art exhibitions held in two of the 2,935 square foot galleries all the way to dance and musical productions, lectures and other cultural exchanges which are held in the 350 seat theater . The center also features a classroom, book shop and staff offices.
The majority of the activities focus on the art exhibitions which are presented on a year round schedule. While most of the art work comes from the center and local artists, other exhibits come from museums and cultural centers all across the country.
Some notable exhibits include a pictorial history of Chinese women in America, a Han Dynasty pictorial history and an exhibit of tradition costumes and jewelry.
For those that have visited Chinatown and are wanting to learn more about the Chinese culture or those that are of Chinese origin and want to learn more about their history and ancestors, the Chinese Cultural Center is more than happy to answer all of your questions and open your eyes to a whole new world.
