Just a few minutes from downtown San Francisco and across the bay is the Chabot Space and Science Center, the perfect place for kids of all ages.
With its classes, workshops, planetarium and theater the museum is the perfect place for kids of all ages, but children that are in elementary schools will really love it as it incorporates their love of learning.
The planetarium is a 70 foot domes screen white night time presentations that come complete with music and narration that will explain what exactly you are saying and its purpose in the nighttime sky. The narration also details where the constellations can be found in the sky and how to identify them for yourself.
The Discovery Room is perfect for kids ages 4-7, the room comes with a large theatre with "Sensurround." As well as an observatory that features a powerful telescope that the entire public can enjoy and use to get an up close and personal look at the stars that dot the night sky.
Learning doesn't stop with trips to the planetarium and observatory, there are also a variety of classes and workshops for children and adults that will teach them about the wonders of space and science.
For those that are in the mood for a little bit of fun to go along with learning a couple new things, the Chabot Space and Science Center is the perfect place. No matter if you are a kid or just a kid at heart.
