California Academy of Sciences
875 Howard Street
San Francisco, CA

Even though the California Academy of Sciences has been temporarily displaced due to renovations, the museum continues to be one of the top attractions for families that are visiting the Bay Area.

Currently located on Howard Street, the museum serves as a two in one type facility. Guests can take their pick of the Museum of Natural History as well as the Steinhart Aquarium.

For those that are mostly interested in the natural science aspect, the museum offers exhibits on the natural state of California as well as featuring an astrobiology section and an area geared towards youngsters known as Nature's Nest.

Those that have a fascination with our friends of the deep, the aquarium is the ideal place to spend your afternoon. It is at the aquarium that you can get up close with sea creatures such as sea horses, sharks, turtles and other fish.

Once the museum finishes the scheduled renovations in 2008, it will again move back to its permanent home and make way for the Morrison Planetarium where visitors can once again enjoy the natural wonders of the galaxy.

For those that want to lean more about the natural beauty that exists on the land and in the depths of the ocean, the California Academy of Sciences is the perfect place to go.

Admission included with the San Francisco CityPass.
